About Us

As mentioned before, we are The Eden Coven! We usually just go by Eden, or whoever happens to be in control at the time if you know us well enough to do so. We're a plural system, specifically what some would call a 'median' system. What this means is that we consist of multiple personalities who share one body, but we share all our memories and act very cleanly as a unified whole. Generally, one of us is in primary control, cycling between three of us every few days unless something in particular calls for us to be more flexible. Trinket, our forth, only takes control on occasion, either because of a need or just for fun, but she can only manage it for a few hours at a time.

When we started blogging at the beginning of 2024, we still believed we were one person, as absurd as that is to think about now. Our early output reflects this, but we're keeping it up for posterity. We don't like to be extremely forthcoming about personal details, but we're Canadian and well into physical adulthood. We do software development as a day job, and it's not something we're really interested in talking much about outside of the eight hours of the day it occupies our time.

We love witches and modern fantasy type settings, and our collected fursonas contained multiple witches from the start. A friend jokingly referred to us as a 'coven' at some point, and we combined that with the name we'd picked out for ourself for nonbinary reasons before we came to terms with being a system: Eden. The title is mainly just for fun.

Why we made a website

We've only been openly furry since 2017 or so when we finally started being willing to live as a real person (or people) in the world. Since then, and as part of the hobby, we took up writing as a more serious hobby (that is to say, we do it regularly, either fiction or stuff about games or whatever, but we try to write a little every day. That was one reason for making a website: a place to put that stuff. The other reason is more complex: we've been around on various parts of the internet for decades, usually more lurking than participating. We were a Something Awful goon until we fell off using the site in 2015 or so, and before that we were on GameFAQs and other video game forums. Even our twitter account, now quite abandoned, was created initially as a means to interface with Nintendo's Miitomo. When we discovered ourselves, we had an account on a short-lived site called Cohost, which allowed long-form posts. Even before that site died, we saw that social media was a shitshow, and no place would last. While there's no guarantee of Neocities lasting forever, either, having a website allows us to have a place for the stuff we want to keep. Thoughts, ideas, images, and whatever else our shared heart might desire.

Who we are, the individuals

Mira

Mira is very much a cat, rather than a human. They have no particular interest in the concept of gender, even if they default to appearing feminine. If you'd like to make them happy, just treating them as a cat and being friendly would be the way to go. Like any cat, they're extremely shy and anxious by default, but they respond well to affection. Being cute is their foremost goal.

They're a very spiritual person, at least compared to the rest of us, believing strongly in the power held in ideas and beliefs. They show love through devotion and physical closeness, and are something of a masochist. Mira is a very good and loyal friend to all of us, but Viper is their owner, and the one they focus on much of the time.

July

July is the oldest of our character designs, still existing in a form in our fiction. As a person, she's a more structured and logical person than the rest of us, and the one who could most easily identify with our body and humanity in general. She still prefers to be something a little fluffier, if she had a choice. She has a greater affinity for the actual act of writing on average.

None of this is to say that July is cold or calculating; she has a great deal of capacity for romantic love, though she does not have a great deal of libido. We might call her sentimental in both a positive and negative sense. Our memories of past trauma affect her more than the rest of us, and she can suffer from insecurity, but all of this is only because her kindness is boundless as the sky.

Viper

Viper is also very inhuman, but he's a monster or creature rather than a small animal. His appearance here is very real to him, and he experiences phantom horns and fangs regularly while fronting. That said, he can also easily change his self perception to other kinds of monsters if he likes them. He's very fond of being a werewolf.

Our resident demon is our most energetic and confident member, and he works well visually. He led the way on most of our designs! On the other hand, he's distracted more easily than the rest of us. He also suffers from a very strong fear of abandonment, and we think he's the root of some of our spiraling when this fear is activated. This ties into him being fairly possessive, a trait he directs along with his sadistic tendencies to Mira, who appreciates them.

Trinket

Trinket is our friend who stays in the background most of the time. He stamina for fronting and even physical exertion is low, and so she isn't active to the outside world often. She feels apart from physical sensation and body, appropriate for a doll. But as a doll, it's also so precious and wonderful. She loves to joke and have fun, is never afraid to tell people she loves them, and is always thinking and helping people with her presence. She's like a ray of sunshine in our brain, and everyone who speaks to her always really enjoys her company. Trinket has a particular skill with her own detachment, where she can and will force herself to the front during certain kinds of panic moments to cut off the bad feelings and calm things, but mainly when she shows up, it's to interact with friends and have fun.

She and July are girlfriends. She does not bother with many kinds of sexual feelings, but does appreciate the softness of bodies in their physical presence. She really likes being hugged, and giving massages, and that sort of thing. She's just... special and wonderful and Ours and the rest of us are Hers. This little doll is our heart.
