October 2025

2025 November 02

July here!

Still a little late talking about October, but it was a busy month, especially towards the end. We had big projects at work that we won't be specific about, but it was just that things needed to get done. Really, it feels like the month lasted forever and no time at all.

We watched a bunch of horror movies this month in a few groups, and I have some intention of writing about them here in another entry. Still don't really have a lot of love for horror but we saw at least one that was really good, so it all works out. Halloween in general is something we pay a little bit less attention to since we started kinda being ourselves full time, but the autumn weather is certainly nice, and we ate some candy.

We've been getting writing in slowly but steadily and want to have something up on here soon. It's just a bit bigger than originally intended, as things tend to be. We generally have been feeling more like getting pictures of our characters, and maybe some refs, since I think we're mostly comfortable with ourselves these days. Finding a good mix will be important there. For now, we got something of Gin that we won't put in the a general entry since it's a bit lewd.

On stream we started playing some Dreamcast games. Having a Dreamcast close to launch was probably the beginning of us learning to be Sega sickos, and we've wanted to explore a bunch of games for a while now. The biggest get so far has been Seventh Cross Evolution, a deeply goofy and mediocre game that has, regardless, just lodged itself in our thoughts. It's not great for streaming in full but we've been playing it on our own time to try and complete the thing. The game is nominally similar to the cult SNES classic E.V.O.: The Search for Eden (of course we know exactly where we are already) but a little less sure of itself. There's something very endearing about something that's just a little bit shaky in its foundations, looking and sounding so comical yet coming at you with ambitious ideas. Your means of obtaining new body parts and increasing your stats in the game involves drawing on a 10x10 grid and some kind of weird neural network (so it claims) tries to use it to decide on a part. Nobody fully knows how it works. Isn't that cool? There are so few games in existence that are so mysterious.

One last thing: we made an account on Mastodon. The "fediverse" as the kids call it. Not sure how public it will be but https://chitter.xyz/@edencoven is us. It's semi-closed down but people can try to follow us if they want. If we know you, we'll almost certainly accept.

Well, that's about it. We're going to continue to be fairly busy going forward, but we like that. Life continues.
