New Stuff

It's Valentines Day but we don't give a shit about that. Not even me! We've been working on splintering out another segment of this site for more longer form things about media, probably games most of the time but not going to limit ourselves. We don't consider ourselves 'critics' or 'doing criticism' in any sense, but that's basically the idea of what it's for. Despite that we have called the section "Reviews" which thankfully sets expectations low. Besides, that's what they call them on backloggd.

Backloggd being the video game version of Letterboxd etc, which we've had an account on for a few years and have used pretty regularly. We've even met a number of nice people through the thing! Problem is, the people we originally started using the site to hang out with have essentially stopped over time, and that number has grown. Their reasons for doing so are all good, but in our case, we've never had any significant issues with the site because our main purpose in using it was to get some stuff down and discuss things with existing friends. We don't follow the pages for new games since we don't ever bother playing new games anyway. We don't care what anyone else writes or follow news about the site itself. It's a blogging site and we're writing for ourselves.

HOWEVER.

For precisely that reason, it feels silly to put the stuff we're proud of on that site and not our own. And really, lately we've sensed that the format of the site itself is preventing us from being willing to write out what we want sometimes. Since we've started streaming, our video game playing habits have changed, and so have our patterns using the site, so its only sensible for us to adapt. W've started it off with a little more about Kick Challenger, which we had an entry on the site for. This one is a bit longer and we can include some of our own screenshots.

We might port some things from backloggd to here, or possibly some things from older blog posts. Not sure yet, and this is a big enough update. We might also link or post things to there as well as here. Dunno yet! This is an ongoing experiment. We'll also try to remember/figure out setting up a separate RSS feed for it.
