2026 April 01It's Viper again
Well, the year is easing up on us in a personal capacity. Things feel really actually stable, the most stressful stuff is out of the way, and we are starting to feel whole again. Granted, daylight savings has had a lingering affect on our ability to sleep properly but that's kinda the way we've always been. We marked two years since we 'figured it out' and started living as a system, and our physical birthday is imminent. Life, as they say, goes on.
Creatively, we're starting to feel restless. Streaming is an outlet that takes up a lot of time we'd have otherwise used writing. No intention of stopping it, but we've also been drifting around, sometimes looking at individual projects, and so on. Basically we're fiddling with a million things and getting nothing done, but it's not so bad. We played Moonlight Duelists, the violent horny VN from Kayin, who made I Wanna Be The Guy. This has given Mira a plain desire to express themself, but we're still playing around with how we do that. I think because their own focus tends to bounce around in terms of what interests them, it's difficult to settle and decide on what it is they want to do. I think it'll get somewhere, though. It's just a personal process. We've also started feeling a desire to make games again. That's not new at all, but it's been a good number of years since we've actually done it. So we started trying to learn Love2D and therefore Lua and just feel something fun out of it. We don't need to do everything in the world, but even something small and silly would be satisfying to make.
All this is to say that writing our main thing here is slow because it's maybe not so "main" anymore. But it is being plinked away at, bit by bit. There are so many things we want to do with it that abandoning the thing seems unworkable, but we're also wondering how we'd retool our PREVIOUS big thing that we got very far in and are not totally satisfied with and, well you know how it is.
In streaming, we've spent this month with some extremely good quiz games, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader is shockingly good for what it is, and there's this GBA Millionaire that's very British. We've played a lot of PS2 stuff, mainly some slightly-less-known games like Mr. Mosquito and Cookie and Cream. However, we also got sucked into all the Sega Ages 2500 series and that's a whole thing. Turns out, we like Golden Axe now. Not really that PS2 version that one is scuffed to hell, but the Genesis version is good. Probably arcade too.
In short, there's lots going on. Hopefully we get to show it to people!

By Qwarq
We've been watching weekly anime nights on Qwarq's server for a few, and that includes a lot of Precure. The rest of us are not super enthusiastic, but Trinket loves the looks and style of a magical girl, so we commissioned Qwarq to work their magic on her. She loves this extremely much. The little mascot july was their idea! It was so good!

One T. Ashley Jenkins, creator of Petal Crash, did this commission for a map sprite for Mira, which we did turn into a channel emote. It's just really super cute though. Glad they fit the style so well.
